AuntBird provides cloud-based practice management software for accounting firms and other professional-service organizations. This Privacy Policy explains how AuntBird collects, uses, shares, protects, and retains information when you visit auntbird.com, create an account, or use the AuntBird service.
1. Information we collect
Depending on how you use AuntBird, we may collect:
- Account information, including your name, work email address, phone number, organization name, organization code, and login credentials.
- Subscription and transaction information associated with your AuntBird account.
- Information entered by authorized users, such as client, contact, engagement, employee, time, expense, invoice, payment, and support-ticket information.
- Technical and security information, such as IP address, browser type, device information, session information, login activity, and audit records.
- Communications you send to AuntBird, including support requests and replies.
2. Customer-controlled data
Firms using AuntBird may enter information about their clients, employees, engagements, billing, and business operations. The subscribing firm controls that information and is responsible for determining what information it enters, who may access it, and whether it has the authority to process it. AuntBird processes that information to provide the service to the subscribing firm.
3. How we use information
We may use information to:
- Create, authenticate, administer, and secure user accounts.
- Provide practice-management, billing, reporting, communication, and support features.
- Process subscriptions and payments.
- Send transactional, security, billing, onboarding, and support communications.
- Monitor performance, prevent fraud and abuse, troubleshoot problems, and improve the service.
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements.
4. Service providers and disclosures
AuntBird may use service providers for hosting, infrastructure, payment processing, email delivery, security, monitoring, and other operational functions. These providers receive information only as reasonably necessary to perform services for AuntBird. Payment-card information is processed by Stripe and is not stored directly by AuntBird in full card-number form.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect the rights and security of AuntBird or others, in connection with a business transaction, or with the direction or consent of the applicable customer.
5. Cookies and sessions
AuntBird uses cookies and similar technologies that are necessary for authentication, session management, security, preferences, and service operation. Disabling required cookies may prevent the service from functioning correctly.
6. Data security
AuntBird uses administrative, technical, and physical safeguards intended to protect information, including encrypted web connections, access controls, password hashing, session protections, audit records, and restricted administrative access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and AuntBird cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data retention
Information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain business and security records, meet legal and accounting requirements, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Retention periods may vary by data type and customer instructions. Backup copies may remain for a limited period after deletion.
8. Access, correction, and deletion requests
Account users may update certain information within AuntBird. Requests concerning information entered by a subscribing firm should generally be directed to that firm. For requests directed to AuntBird, contact us using the information below. We may need to verify your identity and authority before acting.
9. Children's privacy
AuntBird is a business service and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through the public website.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date shown above will be revised when material changes are published. Continued use of AuntBird after an update is subject to the revised policy.
